Why Loading Bars on 80s Micros? [Byte Size] | Nostalgia Nerd

Loading Screens, and loading bars; it's a question which plagued my mind for many years. Why, when loading games from audio tape or cassette software do many home computers display horizontal raster bars on screen in varying colours? Why don't we have a picture of a little guy landing on the moon? WHY DO WE HAVE LOADING BANDS? Bars? Rasters? Lines? Loading Lines??! Whatever you want to call them? Well, in this episode of Byte Size, I'll be finding out why. Popular machines like the Sinclair Spectrum, Commodore 64 and Amstrad CPC all featured these bands in one form or another. Even early machines like the ZX81 featured something similar (although this was a design quirk more than intentional), but it's something I find particularly fascinating none the less, and after all, what's Byte Size about if it isn't unearthing knowledge from old technology quirks. How Long Does It Take to Recovery After Bypass Surgery?

Source: heart bypass surgery recovery period rely upon on multiple factors, still the recovery period is good. After heart bypass surgery, the patient has to remain in the hospital for about seven days so that medical staff can look into the recovery closely. The recovery time varies slightly from one patient to another. Usually it takes 1 day to attain a state where you can sit in a chair, 3 days to be able to walk and five to six days to be able to climb up and down stairs. In general case, a person recovers fully after about 12 weeks after surgery. However, the recovery can be delayed in case of any complication during the recovery or during the surgery.Even in a general case in the absence of any complications, an individual takes a minimum of 6 weeks and a maximum of 12 weeks to recover after surgery. This time is actually required for the breastbone to heal.Bypass Surgery Recovery at HomeYou need to take painkillers for the recommended time to minimize the soreness in the region where cut was made. It is helpful to wear loose and comfortable clothes so that the wound does not rub against the tight clothes. It is normal to feel weakness for the duration of three to six weeks from the time of surgery as most of the energy is utilized in the healing process. Only after about six weeks, you would be able to perform daily activities comfortably. Full recovery requires three months.

Angriffsspieler besiegen

Queen's Indian Defense (Computer4-Impossible) - Standard chess #20

I played a standard chess game as white with time controls set at 15 minutes with a 2 second increment against Computer4 Impossible. The opening played was the Queen's Indian Defense. Although the game begins modest enough, play sharpens when the kings reside on opposite sides. We can usually expect a full fledged attack on the king in such cases. Calculation and timing are two important factors in the said environment. The Halloween Gambit

This video highlights some variations to be aware of in the aggressive Halloween Gambit of the Four Knight's Opening (Müller-Schulze Gambit or Leipzig Gambit), where white sacrifices a knight early in the game for a single central black pawn, a pawn storm in the center, and a lead in development. is likely not too scary an opening for the black player who is aware of lines where the material is given back favorably in exchange for development, or for the black player who knows how to meet the complex variations where the material plus is maintained. In short, the Halloween Gambit is likely not going to be played on a serious level due to it not being sound, but it certainly has its practical chances in a faster time control game, or even against an unsuspecting opponent. Chess Opening: Grob Attack

The Grob Attack has a reputation for not being the strongest opening. That's partly because it's not very good BUT that doesn't mean there aren't some fun variations and creative traps that many players will fall for. For more chess openings check out

He continued to hold the "Classical" World Chess Championship until his defeat by Vladimir Kramnik in 2000. He was the first world champion to lose a match to a computer under standard time controls, when he lost to Deep Blue in 1997.Kasparov's ratings achievements include being rated world No. 1 according to Elo rating almost continuously from 1986 until his retirement in 2005. He achieved a peak rating of 2851,[4] which was the highest recorded until 2013. He was the world No. 1 ranked player for 255 months, nearly three times as long as his closest rival, Anatoly Karpov. Kasparov also holds records for consecutive tournament victories and Chess Oscars.Kasparov announced his retirement from professional chess on 10 March 2005, so that he could devote his time to politics and writing. He formed the United Civil Front movement, and joined as a member of The Other Russia, a coalition opposing the administration and policies of Vladimir Putin. In 2008, he announced an intention to run as a candidate in the 2008 Russian presidential race, but failure to find a sufficiently large rental space to assemble the number of supporters that is legally required to endorse such a candidacy, led him to withdraw. Although he is widely regarded in the West as a symbol of opposition to Putin,[5] support for him as a candidate was low.[6] He is currently on the board of directors for the Human Rights Foundation. ►Subscribe for my regular chess videos: ►Support the channel by donating via PayPal: SmilingBy Copyright 2007, S.M.S.I., Inc. - Owen Williams, The Kasparov Agency. The Benko Gambit - Chess Openings with GM Damian Lemos

Want an opening for Black that lets you attack, while offering White no counter-play? 🤔 Sounds too good to be true, but that's exactly what the Benko Gambit offers. Get instant access to IM Ris' course on the Benko with 35% off. ►Benko Gambit (also known as the Volga Gambit) is one of the most attractive chess openings for Black against 1.d4. Why? Because it’s a special kind of gambit which most club players rated below 2100 are unable to deal with.In the Benko Gambit, Black does not sacrifice a pawn for tactical counter-chances and a lead in development but for positional reasons.Black sacrifices a pawn very early in the opening to obtain active piece play and long-lasting positional compensation in the form of the half-open a- and b-files.From a practical point of view, White’s position is extremely difficult to play. For the White player, it requires a huge amount of deep opening preparation and positional understanding to prove anything against the Benko Gambit. The Benko Gambit: The Ultimate Chess Opening GuideThe Benko Gambit starts with the moves 1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 c5 3. d5 b5!? (see the diagram on the right). This opening has been played by Super-Grandmasters such as Carlsen, Kasparov, Anand, Topalov, Ivanchuk, Bologan, Adams and Shirov, and is very dangerous to play against. The Benko Gambit is one of these openings that does not get the attention it deserves, mainly because engines favor White with his extra pawn. The Benko Gambit is one of the best openings for club players, and you should consider giving it a try to expand your horizons. Black sacrifices a pawn very early to generate long-term counterplay. He builds up a large amount of pressure on the queenside in this opening, forcing White to be very careful in the way that he responds. It’s key to notice that this his gambit is very unique as Black is not really trying to gain immediate tactical counterplay in the center, but rather wants to play for static pressure on the queenside via the open a- and b-file.However, diving deeper into the opening, even the strongest engines can’t show a clear way for White to get an advantage.► Corresponding article from this video with extra goodies: **** ****► Join the iChess Club, an exclusive community for our top chess fans: Come check out the iChess.net shop, we have the world’s largest collection of chess videos and chess courses: Other Videos from iChess**********► Subscribe to our main Youtube Channel: Check out our Master Method video series: out our most recent video: FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL: ***********Facebook: Our Other YouTube Channels ***********iChess Ch 2: en español:
